Registration Guidelines

  • All international fees are payable in Euros (EUR) and quoted per person.
  • The fees for the virtual events of the 56th ISOCARP World Planning Congress are expected to cover the costs of publication as well as the expenses incurred by the organising team in the preparation and adaptation to the virtual format.
  • ISOCARP requires that at least one of the authors of a paper or a case study pay a registration fee on or before 08 October 2020 in order to present their contribution during one of the virtual events of the Congress and for the paper to be published and included in the proceedings. Failure to register will result in withdrawal of the submission from the 56th World Planning Congress proceedings and programme. The rest of the co-authors and other participants who will register for the Congress will enjoy the same access to the virtual events.
  • The Congress Team members of each track will decide on the presentation schedules, on a thematic basis, once all contributions and registration fees have been received. All full paper contributions of authors who registered for and presented during the virtual Congress will be included in the December 2020 (publication month) Congress proceedings.
  • The in-person gathering in Doha, Qatar will take place in November 2021 as the 57th ISOCARP World Planning Congress with a new theme and different sets of tracks. However, authors who will already present virtually will also have the opportunity to present in-person in Doha, Qatar in November 2021, if they prefer, corresponding to the in-person Congress registration fees.
  • All full paper contributions that will be presented in-person in Doha, Qatar will be included in the November 2021 Congress proceedings.
  • The author, by submitting a paper for the 2020 ISOCARP Congress, guarantees that the work submitted is original and has not been previously published.
  • Different terms apply to those with approved session proposals and special sessions. While session proposers also need to register on time to guarantee a slot in the Congress events, you do not need to submit anything yet by the 8 October 2020 paper submission deadline. We will contact you individually regarding the next steps as soon as the programming of sessions starts.
  • We strongly recommend all participants of the 56th ISOCARP Virtual World Planning Congress to join ISOCARP as a member or to renew their memberships timely.
