ISOCARP Review is the annual flagship publication of the International Society of City and Regional Planners. Published since 2004, it offers ISOCARP members and the world's planning community a comprehensive set of volumes providing solutions to the major challenges of contemporary urban planning. Each edition of the Review mirrors the theme of the annual ISOCARP World Planning Congress.

This year ISOCARP is proud to present the new edition, with a new name, Review of World Planning Practice – Volume 16: Post-Oil Urbanism. This new edition presents 14 articles of noteworthy city and regional planning efforts from around the world, organised in three sections: Post-Oil Urbanism; Development Policy, Research and Theory; and, City and Regional Planning Practices. New to Volume 16 is the preponderance of articles about policy implementation planning, documenting the implementation of international, national and regional policy goals, such as the promotion of sustainable growth or the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

For more than fifteen years, ISOCARP Review has built a high reputation and is read by influential urban specialists and decision-makers worldwide. The Review of World Planning Practice - Volume 16: Post-Oil Urbanism will be launched on the second day of the 56th World Planning Congress while authors and editors will be invited to take part in a special World Planning Congress Review Roundtable on 3 February.
