Abstract
As world’s economy tries to recover from COVID-19 Pandemic, the industry diversity in Indonesia affects the economic sustainability and its continuity. This paper explores the industry diversity and economic resilience in Indonesia during Covid-19 Pandemic. Using fixed effects model with data from Central Bureau of Statistic, Ministry of Industry and Ministry of Public Works and Housing, the paper examines the influence of Industrial Diversity and economic growth between January to June 2020 compared with economic growth plan. Result indicates that counties, which concentrated in big scale industries such as manufacture and massive infrastructure, had high deviation between real economic growth and economic growth plan in this unprecedented time. However, counties with more diverse scale of industries, which supported with home and small industry as well as labor intensive, are more likely to be steady. This paper recommends the country to encourage creating industry diversity that may help buffer its economy in regard to prevent unfavourable shocks.
