Abstract
Tehran was a settlement in the past that more than 230 years ago chose as a capital of Iran, today is a metropolitan with fixed 9 million populations that is considered the center of economic, cultural, political, social and communicational evolution and changes of country. This city throughout its life, experienced different political, economic and military events from changing Qajar and Pahlavi governments to second occupying (in world war 2), but two historical events of Islamic revolution and eight-year war with the Ba’athist regime in Iraq were among changes that their effects and consequences still can be seen everywhere of Tehran. Mosques, squares and places that were gathering, organizing and activity center of revolutionary forces of Iran, today are narrators of the part of ups and downs of Tehran history which are attractive for many tourists. In this city, there are about 20 museums in the field of Islamic revolution and holy defense (war), that expose the works and structures and also artistic and architectural items to visitors and tourists. Some of these museums were places of different political activities and changes in Islamic revolution period or before that and the others are houses belonged to important political and religious characters of Islamic revolution of Iran, such as Ayatollah Khomeini and Ayatollah Rafsanjani; On the other hand, in every place and neighborhood of Tehran, have been built memorial monuments in honor of anonymous martyr soldiers of war that in addition of having spiritual value, are considered as significant artistic works. Nevertheless, in spite of multiplicity and diversity of Tehran tourism spots in the field of Islamic revolution and holy defense (war), many of citizens and tourists don’t have any detailed information about these spots and many of these attractions are not properly introduced to citizens. Islamic revolution and holy defense museum as one of Tehran municipality organizations, has prepared the Atlas of Islamic revolution and holy defense tourism of Tehran. This Atlas that is prepared in two physical (handy) and software versions, includes 133 tourism spots in the field of Islamic revolution and holy defense of Tehran. In physical version of this Atlas, are exposed descriptive information, maps and also images of intended place. In digital and software version, there are features such as routing, virtual visiting, registration capability in tourism tours, text document, images archive and other features so that tourists by installing this software can use of them.
