Abstract
Views play an important part in shaping our appreciation and understanding of heritage. A significant view in terms of its heritage values is a historical composite, the cumulative result of a long process of development, enriches our daily life, attracts visitors and helps our communities prosper. Now, the idea of taking heritage as the engine of sustainable development influenced by HUL, brings great challenges to the symbiosis of urban development and heritage conservation. Due to the lack of effective method, the specific views that have been recognized as being important is often marred by the construction, which directly affects the continuation of the heritage value and deprives local residents of the historical memory. This paper starts with the review on the visual impact of heritage around the world, including the main contents, technical methods and support system. And then, oriented by heritage value, the research framework of historical landscape visual impact assessments is put forward to manage the view containing heritages, to share the view with everyone. Finally, the measures are discussed, how to achieve the integration of the heritage site and the living space, and how to support the long-term development in the future within views.
