Abstract
In the process of modernization, the urban construction in China takes the historical city as the core position for constantly transforming and expanding internally. In history, the marginal zone formed by the consolidation of the city walls has gradually changed into a special zone of “half city and half country” in the process of internal and external two-way erosion. As a result, the buffer zone between the old and new urban areas plays an important role in terms of coordination of the ancient city style, closure of traffic, and functional deconstruction, etc. However, in the context of the conservation of ancient cities as the main body, the value of buffer zone has not been paid much attention to in the practice of the conservation planning of historical ancient cities in China, and lacks corresponding theoretical support. In reality, the boundary development of historical city is approaching the historical heritage itself and causing it to lose the original historical aura. By studying documents on international heritage conservation, this paper combs the theoretical cognition of buffer zone conservation planning from the international perspective. Then, on the basis of this theory, and combined with the characteristics and problems under the conservation and development of new area in ancient city, this paper puts forward the conservation and development strategies in three aspects: transportation inside and outside the ancient city, interaction of new and old styles, and industrial planning transfer in view of the buffer zone with half urban and half rural environmental characteristics between the ancient city and the new area, hoping to promoting unified planning of renewal of ancient city and construction of new area to ensure the coordinated development of them, so as to realize more comprehensive and scientific implementation of the overall conservation plan of the ancient city, and the buffer zone within it.
