Abstract
The city's historic district brings together the city's cityscape in a particular historical period and witnessed the city's development history. It is undoubtedly an important part of the historical and cultural accumulation of the city. Therefore, the renewal planning of the city's historic blocks often involves historical and cultural protection and the inheritance of traditional styles. Taking the historic district of Guangzhou's Zhuangyuanfang as the research object, the space pattern before and after the planning of the historic district of the Zhuangyuanfang was compared with the spatial syntax to evaluate the rationality and effectiveness of the planning design in the protection and renewal of the historical block. The results show that several parameter results simulated by the Depthmap software on the block axis model can graphically characterize and investigate the protection and update effect of the Zhuangyuanfang historical block. Overall, the core of the integration of the planned historical block of Zhuangyuanfang has been significantly expanded, which will help to evacuate the traffic in the region and bring about the gathering of regional people. At the same time, the average depth has dropped, and the convenience of the block has risen remarkably, which is conducive to the spatial distribution of people. Finally, the high intelligibility value after planning is a good indication that the protection and renewal plan inherits the historical context and texture of the current block, and plays a very good role in protecting the features of traditional historical blocks. This will study provide a new perspective and method for the protection and renovation planning of urban historic blocks, provide the scientific basis for the protection and renewal assessment of historic blocks, and provide reference examples for quantitative research on the spatial shape of historic blocks.
